Παράθυρο στον κόσμο. Εκεί που η εκπαίδευση έχει σημασία....
Φέτος στο Κέντρο Ευρωπαϊκών Γλωσσών Κωνσταντίνας Μελισσάρη, επιχειρούμε να ανοίξουμε ένα μεγάλο παράθυρο στο κόσμο. Ένα παράθυρο για να δείξουμε στους μαθητές μας
εικόνες και στιγμιότυπα από τη ζωή συνομηλίκων τους σε ολόκληρη την υφήλιο. Να
γνωρίσουμε πολιτισμούς. Να ξαναζωντανέψουμε θρύλους. Να επισκεφθούμε χώρες και
λαούς. Να συγκρίνουμε τρόπους ζωής. Να αγγίξουμε τη ζωή των «άλλων». Να ψηλαφίσουμε
τα προβλήματά τους. Με δυο λέξεις: να τους γνωρίσουμε!
Στόχος
είναι μέσα από την εξάσκηση της Αγγλικής γλώσσας, που θα είναι το «εργαλείο» της
συνάντησής μας, να ανοίξουμε νέους ορίζοντες σκέψης στους μαθητές μας και να τους
δώσουμε την ευκαιρία να διαπιστώσουν και -τελικά- να εμπεδώσουν ότι τίποτα δεν
είναι αυτονόητο. Και την ίδια στιγμή, πως τίποτα δεν είναι ακατόρθωτο.
Στην
προσπάθειά μας αυτή θα δώσουμε τον διακριτικό τίτλο «Window to the world», δηλαδή «Παράθυρο στον
κόσμο» και κάθε φορά θα παρουσιάζεται ένα καινούργιο θέμα.
Malala Yousafzai: Η Οδύσσεια μιας μαθήτριας.
Με
τους μαθητές των μεγαλύτερων τάξεων ξεκινήσαμε ήδη αυτή την εβδομάδα να
βλέπουμε ένα video των New York Times, που μέσα από τον αγώνα ενός μικρού
κοριτσιού στο Πακιστάν για το ΑΥΤΟΝΟΗΤΟ δικαίωμα στην εκπαίδευση, προβάλει τον αγώνα
εκατομμυρίων παιδιών σε ολόκληρο τον κόσμο που δίνουν καθημερινά τον δικό τους
αγώνα για να πάνε στο σχολείο να μορφωθούν. Δείχνει όμως και κάτι πιο σημαντικό. Αυτό που πολύ σοφά είπε ο Νίκος Καζαντζάκης, πως ένας άνθρωπος μπορεί μόνος του να αλλάξει τον κόσμο.
Αφού δουν το βίντεο και μετά την απαραίτητη συζήτηση, οι μαθητές μας θα εργαστούν σε συγκεκριμένο πλάνο, θέτοντας και απαντώντας
ερωτήματα για το πόσο αυτονόητο αγαθό είναι η εκπαίδευση, πόσο μοιάζει –αν μοιάζει-
ο δικός τους αγώνας στα σχολεία της Ελλάδας, τα κίνητρα και οι στόχοι, με τον
αγώνα της Μαλάλα.
Όταν βιντεοσκοπήθηκε από τον Adam
B. Ellick το ντοκιμαντέρ, το 2009 δηλαδή, η Malala Yousafzai ήταν μόλις 12
χρονών.
Δύο χρόνια αργότερα, το Νοέμβριο
του 2011, μεγαλύτερη πια, συνέχιζε τον αγώνα της. Εκφώνησε μάλιστα μια ομιλία
για τη σημασία της εκπαίδευσης και τους δικούς της αγώνες να μορφωθεί.
Σήμερα η Μαλάλα είναι 15
ετών και πριν λίγες ημέρες πυροβολήθηκε στο κεφάλι και τον ώμο από Ταλιμπάν,
για να της διδάξουν πως όποιος μιλάει εναντίον τους, θα τιμωρείται κατ’ αυτόν
τον τρόπο. Πυροβολήθηκε γιατί υπερασπίστηκε το δικαίωμά της στην εκπαίδευση.
Πήγαινε στο σχολείο της για να
μορφωθεί, επειδή πιστεύει ότι η γυναίκα έχει ίσα δικαιώματα με τον άντρα. Έχει
blog, μέσα από το οποίο αγωνίζεται και καταδικάζει τις ωμότητες που διαπράττουν
οι Ταλιμπάν. «Κορίτσια, πηγαίνετε στο σχολείο και μορφωθείτε. Θέλω να πω σε όλα
τα κορίτσια να συνεχίσουν την αποστολή τους που είναι η μόρφωση», δήλωσε από το
νοσοκομείο του Πακιστάν η Καϊνάτ, όπου νοσηλεύτηκε αρχικά.
Της την έστησαν άνανδρα, λοιπόν,
και την πυροβόλησαν με μίσος, έτσι ώστε να πάψει να πιστεύει σε μια καλύτερη
ζωή. Όπως είπαν οι ίδιοι, «την είχαμε προειδοποιήσει επανειλημμένως να
σταματήσει να μιλάει κατά των Ταλιμπάν και ότι πρέπει να πάρει το δρόμο του
Ισλάμ».
Οι πακιστανοί Ταλιμπάν ανέλαβαν
την ευθύνη και ανακοίνωσαν μάλιστα ότι θα ξαναπροσπαθήσουν να δολοφονήσουν την
Μαλάλα αν το έφηβο κορίτσι καταφέρει να επιβιώσει από τα τραύματά του.
Η Μαλάλα έχει μεταφερθεί σε
νοσοκομείο του Λονδίνου όπου της παρέχεται κάθε δυνατή φροντίδα, ενώ έχει
αρχίσει να επικοινωνεί με το περιβάλλον.
Συνεχίζει να αγωνίζεται για τη ζωή

In Pakistan, in Swat valley, education for girls stopped by force in January 2009, because of the local Talibans. They even destroyed many schools.

Schools, houses, villages have been destroyed and definately it isn't a place to live.
On the contrary, in Greece education is better than in Pakistan. Kids have schools all year, we haven't wars and that's why kids have a better future.
I think that in Greece things are better, than in Pakistan. There aren't people who could possibly hurt us, like Taliban in Pakistan, and of course both boys and girls go to school while in Pakistan girls are not allowed to. There, the Taliban say that no girl should go to school and that's why they tried to kill Malala.

The differences of the education between Greece and Pakistan are many and huge. First and most important is that in Greece education is provided for free, instead of Pakistan where parents have to pay for their kid's schoolbooks and schools.
ΑπάντησηΔιαγραφήSecond, in Greece everyone is allowed to go to school and schools are for both genders, but in Pakistan there are different schools for boys and different for girls. Especially in the area where Malala lives and probably in other areas of Pakistan too, schools are only for boys because the Taliban have forbidden education for girls.
Another huge difference is that in Greece, where education is provided for free, most of the students underestimate it and they don't pay enough attention to their school subjects. On the other hand in Pakistan where education isn't provided for free and in many cases education isn't provided at all, kids are trying to get their education and they fight for it.
In Pakistan girls don't go to school because it's forbidden by the Taliban. The girls would like to get educated and they claim their right so that one day to be able to study.

In Greece the condition is different. We have the freedom to study, but we take it for granted and sometimes we don't pay attention at all.
Education in Pakistan is very poor and there are huge school destructions by the Taliban. In that country, there are two military forces fighting each other, the Taliban and the Government army.

Also in Pakistan women don't have the same rights as men, because Taliban threaten girls by death if they go to school. That's excactly what happened to Malala two months ago.
Watching this video I understand that children who have a high level of education in their country want to educate less than the children who have a low level of education. For example in my country, all children have the chance to attend school, but many of them simply don't want to learn. On the contrary in Pakistan, although there is a very poor level of education, children there want to study and they try to learn under hard conditions.
A perfect example, is Malala.
Education in Pakistan is completely different regarding how are things here in Greece.
ΑπάντησηΔιαγραφήIn Greece we all, boys and girls, go to school from five years old up to eighteen, while in Pakistan Taliban don't let girls go to school and they are forced to get married and work before the age of 14. And it's really tragic that women aren't allowed to visit the market.
Also, in Pakistan there is a war and people have to change homes and areas to save their life. Many of them will never return to their houses because the Taliban have destroyed their villages, their schools and their houses.
